Supporting limb differences any way we can
Our goal here at Different Heroes is to support those with limb differences any way we can.
Here are some of the ways we intend to help:
Here are some of the ways we intend to help:

Hand Camp:
Going to camp with other limb-different children is one of the best things for a child with a limb difference. Here at DH, we absolutely love the Hands 2 Love camps. One of our main fundraising goals is to be able to help children get to camp.

Adoption:
Around 135,000 children get adopted in the US each year (source). Finding specific statistics about how many children in foster care have limb differences is difficult, and it varies by region. For example, in China, roughly one third of children waiting for adoption have a special medical need. Of that group, roughly 10% have a limb difference (source). Adoption is an expensive, lengthy process from what we've heard through listening to families that have adopted children. We want to support families in their journey of adopting children with limb differences.

Prosthetics:
Different Heroes is the parent organization for Hand Challenge. Through Hand Challenge, we've received and distributed hundreds of 3D-printed prosthetics to children around the world. Whether 3D-printed or not, we recognize the powerful impact a prosthetic can have on the life of someone with a limb difference. Therefore, we hope to help provide prosthetics to those in need of one, to aid in mobility and function.
